Digital Painting
Not exactly Kowloon, but inspired by it.

Concept for a personal story about teleportation in the year 2085.

Great concept.

I really have to do one of these far east street scenes, always look so cool! :)

Bad ass. Great use of light. Most cyberpunk cityscapes like this are set at nighttime, so its great to see a hazy daytime take.

Oh yeah. i never thought about it being daytime. I was intending for it to be night time in the original concept, but you're right. It does look like day.

The haze is well done man. I also really dig the depth this creates.
Honest critique: I think the "open" sign is to blatant/random/ or out of place (one of those) it just doesn't mix right with the rest of the wording and signs there. The "open sign should either be directly on a store window or an opening to a diner to reference what is open or it should be partially obscured by another overhang. this type of sign seems to cliché/ antiquated to be in this seen, especially as the focus piece of the foreground. Other than that though, awesome colour choices and detail in the wire lines and platform supports.. We'ld like to see more if u have it! (also from reddit..)

Thank you very much, for your critique.
I totally understand what you mean about the sign and honestly, I didn't think about it that way. It does seem a bit out of place juxtaposed the rest of the Asian themed signs. I knew the feel I wanted with the neon signs, but I also wanted a mix of languages. Since this is for a secondary world I am working on, I thought, maybe eventually languages start to mix, in this case, English and Asian.

I am inspired by Reddit everyday, so there will definitely be more. More cyberpunk/non-cyberpunk stuff.

Thanks again for the critique.

Love it man! Great delineation between background and foreground and I love the tone of the haze. Sweet composition too.
